Our school day begins at 8:30am and ends at 3:00pm. Students can be dropped off beginning at 8:15am and can be picked up from 3pm-3:15pm. Two Fridays per month we release students at 12:30pm.
Yes! Absolutely from August - May. However, during the summer months of June and July we have school Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
The students only have to wear Academy logoed tops each day. Shoes, shorts, socks, etc are completely up to the students. We enjoy seeing them express their individuality. Also, hats are strongly encouraged to be worn! Go here to ORDER YOUR ACADEMY GEAR now.
No. WE DO ALLOW students and adults to bring foods, snacks, drinks and anything else with nuts or nut products in them. We also allow fish. We understand that some children have allergies to things like this and strongly suggest you consider other school alternatives.
Your child can come whenever you want them to. After all, you pay the bill. However, your child's progress will likely be negatively affected and will not be at the same pace of children who do attend the 3 days per week during June and July.
Yes! The Academy High School will launch and open to rising 9th graders in September 2025. Click here to go to The Academy HS website for more information.
We will assess each student based on their ability to be successful in our school. We want our school to be the right fit for the kids we accept and the kids we accept to be able to thrive in our school environment. With this, we have found that high functioning autistic students who can work successfully with at least 1 other student tend to do well in our schools.
Students bring their lunch from home each day. They should also bring at least 2 snacks, and 1 drink and/or a water bottle as well.
We believe every parent should decide for themselves what is best for their child. Masks are optional but will be reinforced for a student to wear if that is the wishes of the parents. Adults in the school also have the option to wear masks.
Not usually, however, we do understand that traditional school environments can sometimes bring out the worst in kids. We will take this into consideration and make numerous observations with students who this might apply to so that we can determine if he/she can be successful in our school.
Heck no!!!! We don't believe grades serve any purpose other than stressing out everyone. Parents are notified continuously throughout the school year of your child's progress.
