The Academy focuses on serving the wonderful and extraordinary gifts of children with dyslexia in a structured literacy and multi-sensory learning environment. We are a 3 year minimum Dyslexia Remediation Program. In our inaugural year, we will anticipate having 10-20 2nd - 6th grade students. We intend on our students growing with us and until the 8th grade.
The Academy is safely opening on August 3rd in the amazing Foundations School in Kennesaw, Ga. Our schools operate on the same calendar and school hours, share facilities and enrichment programs (in most cases), before/after school care, lunch services, and camps are offered to both student bodies. We offer a 5% sibling discount for families attending both school programs.
We believe all children with dyslexia have been given a gift. Their dyslexia has caused them to become resilient, creative, have fortitude, learn to adapt, be persistent and have grit. These are just some of their awesome SUPERPOWERS! At The Academy, we help children discover, cultivate and maximize their SUPERPOWERS!
We are intently focused on providing children with dyslexia or other language based learning disabilities with the skills and strategies to become flourishing, confident and successful readers and adults. We believe there is no more important fundamental life skill than the ability to read fluently. At The Academy, we put all of our financial resources into ensuring that we have effective and low student:teacher ratios so that our students can get the very specific attention they need and deserve. The Academy's student:teacher ratio during the Structured Literacy portion of our day is 6:1 or smaller.
Attending a specialized school such as ours is a tremendous financial investment for parents. We understand this and our hope is our tuition and payment plans are structured in a manner that reflect this understanding. Additionally, our school has been approved by the Georgia Department of Education to accept SB10 Special Needs Scholarships for our inaugural 2020-2021 school year.
